One of the things we encounter from time to time as Mac users is that we end up with the browser not running properly. Maybe it’s full of viruses, or it accumulated too much data. Regardless, changing your browser and deleting the old one can be a very good idea. However, it’s very important how to go through this process and what steps you need to keep in mind. Here’s what you want to do.

Delete the Browsing Data

A good way to ensure no data remains on your device is to delete all the browsing data. You can go to the 3-dot menu in Chrome and choose to delete the desired browsing data. Or, depending on your browser, things might be a little different. But in general, what you need to do is to choose what data you want to remove and the time range as well. Delete the browsing data, and your browser won’t have any of the older info. It’s a soft reset in many ways, and it works very nicely.

Uninstalling your Browser

You can enter the Applications folder and here you will be able to drag the browser’s icon to the trash. That will remove the app from the folder, however some of the items still remain on the Mac.

You need to go to the Library folder and check any folders or files that are related to the browser. Initiating a search with the browser name will usually work. Delete any of those files and folders, and it will help quite a bit.

Use a Cleanup Tool

A Mac cleanup tool is actually very good if you want to uninstall browsers. The way this works is you choose the browser to uninstall from the app list. And then the app cleanup tool will just remove all the remaining files without any issue. It’s the best approach because it gives you a fast way to remove any unwanted files. And it’s also effective without forcing you to manually remove anything.

Can you Install Another Browser After Removing the Current One?

Of course, you are free to use any browser that works on your Mac. That being said, you always want to make sure that you can focus on implementing a browser that just fits your requirements. It might take a little to experiment, and if it goes right, the outcome can be extremely good.

Removing the browser data and adjacent info is a great idea because sometimes these apps will end up keeping a lot of data in them. Being able to remove that data and starting off with a fresh browser is basically always going to help. It’s a good idea to not allow too much browser data to accumulate, because that alone can be a problem. The more you focus on reinstalling the browser or deleting data, the better. Make sure that you always use a professional tool to manage or optimize your browser, and results will be very good!
